John MichaelFRYERIn Loving Memory of Michael John Fryer
16 October 1941 - 27 September 2026
To my dearest Dad, Michael John Fryer: you gave us life, reasoning, and purpose. Not only did you give me wings, you taught me to fly with the eagles.
Born on 16 October 1941 to John and Irene, Dad spent his life navigating the seas, with Rod Stewart's 'Sailing Away' as his guiding tune. Life was a challenge he met head-on, starting from his youth as a deeply loving brother to Stephen and Pauline. His years in the Royal Navy travelling through the Middle East and Africa gave him a vast vision of the world that never left him.
In civilian life, he brought his natural charm, sharp mind, and humour to his sales work with Campari and Driza-Bone. Outside of work, he poured immense energy into the community, instrumental and playing at Caradon Hockey club, volunteering for over 20 years with St Mellion and China Fleet Golf Clubs, and 16 years at the food bank in Devon.
To Mark and me, his twin sons, he was simply Dad. He raised us with core values to be kind, be understanding, work hard, and look after family. Our best memories are rooted in the outdoors-teaching us to fish, grow vegetables, skiing down mountains, and diving off the Cornish coastline memorably Devils Point and Portwrinkle. We also take comfort knowing his beloved dogs-Robbie, Beauliegh, Cyro, Blue, Lara, Kara, and Dilly-are greeting him on his journey.
Dad loved life, gave it his all, and shone brightest surrounded by friends and family. Your warmth, spirit, love and aura remain unbroken and continue to guide us.
Rest in perfect peace, Dad. Endlessly missed - forever loved.
